The Town of Bar Harbor Finance Department is seeking qualified candidates for its Deputy Tax Collector/Accounts Receivable Clerk, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2022. This is a full-time position, which will assist the Tax Collector in all matters of tax collection and will be responsible for all receivables.
The primary responsibilities of the Deputy Tax Collector/Accounts Receivable Clerk include processing the majority of payments that the town receives, as well as reconciling all monies received daily. The position is responsible for reconciling the utility (town water and sewer) receivables accounts, maintaining the tax payment plan, maintaining the documented boat excise payments, assisting the public with any municipal transactions in the Finance Office, and assisting the Tax Collector with any necessary tasks. Candidate must possess strong accounting knowledge, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and advanced PC skills (Excel, Word, etc.). Municipal experience and MUNIS software experience preferred.
