Bar Harbor’s Shore Path is more than a century old. This level walking path follows the shore of Frenchman Bay from the centrally located Town’s Ells Pier to Wayman Lane along the East shore. It passes one of Bar Harbor’s oldest inns and several historic summer “cottages”. The Porcupine Islands, Balance Rock, Egg Rock Light and the Schoodic Peninsula are just a few of the coastal sights along the way. The Bar Harbor Village Improvement Association maintains the path on behalf of the abutting landowners as well as the Town’s residents.
