Inland Fisheries & Wildlife
The Excise Department also serves as an agency for the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. In this capacity we are able to register all-terrain vehicles, boats, and snowmobiles for residents of the Town of Bar Harbor.
New Boat Regulations
The Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife now requires residents and non-residents to purchase and display a Lake and River Protection sticker when they register their boat. The sticker fee of $10 to resident boaters and $20 to non-residents are to help defray the cost to preserve Maine's lakes, streams, and fresh waterways from the infestation of invasive aquatic plants or milfoil.
Maine is the only eastern state where Eurasian Milfoil has not been found. For more information contact
