Cruise Ship Committee Ordinance

Cruise Ship Task Force (completed tasks in December 2009, replaced by a standing Cruise Ship Committee)
The goal of the Cruise Ship Study Task Force was to prioritize and make recommendations to the Bar Harbor Town Council.
The Task Force met with the Town Council every 8 weeks to submit a verbal and written progress report. A final written report was submitted, read the report HERE.

CRUISE SHIP MANAGEMENT STUDY
An Electronic Copy in PDF format of the final plan can be downloaded here Bar Harbor Cruise Ship Destination Management Plan. Printed copies of the plan are available in the Planning Department Offices, for more information call  288-3329

The Cruise Ship Study Task Force was working to implement the Destination Management plan. One of the implementation recommendations is to continue water quality monitoring in the harbor when cruise ships are anchored or in transit. These documents are part of a previous monitoring and study effort from the former MDI Water Quality Coalition.

Cruise Ship Public Feedback Form
The Bar Harbor Cruise Ship Study Task Force implemented operational changes for vehicles in the vicinity of the Town Pier and Agamont Park. These changes went into effect on cruise ship days as of July 1, 2009. The Task Force also added a second bus stop to drop off passengers by the Village Green. The Task Force would like to obtain feedback from the residents and downtown business operators to gauge whether or not these changes have been favorable.
