The goal of the Cruise Ship Study Task Force is to prioritize and make recommendations to the Bar Harbor Town Council within twenty-four months of the first meeting for implementation of the report and other pertinent planning measures.
The Planning Department shall function as the primary professional and
administrative support to this Task Force; however, services and
support from the Harbormaster's Office, the Department of Public Works
and the Police and Fire Departments may also be utilized.
The Task Force shall meet with the Town Council every 8 weeks to submit
a verbal and written progress report. A final written report shall be
submitted and presented verbally to the Council within twenty-four
months of the first meeting, unless that deadline is extended by the
Town Council. Implementation steps the Task Force recommends for
interim action may be submitted at any time to the Town Council for
review. These progress reports will be posted herein as they become
available.
Task Force meetings are open to the public and there will be opportunity for public comment as part of the agenda.
