Water Utility Maintenance Worker
The Town of Bar Harbor has an immediate opening for a Water Utility Maintenance Worker. Duties include installation, maintenance, and repair of water distribution and treatment systems; including fire hydrants, valves, service lines, mains, meters and fittings, water system flushing, water quality sampling, traffic control, meter reading, and preventative maintenance activities.
Minimum requirements include a valid Maine Drivers License, graduation from high school, the ability to lift heavy objects, the ability to work in varying climatic conditions, and the ability to deal effectively and courteously with customers.
The successful applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment physical, a background check and obtain a Class II Water Treatment and a Class II Water Distribution Operator License within two years of hire. Pay is commensurate with experience.
