Birth, Marriages, Death Certificates
Certificates may be obtained from:
1. The city or town in which the event occurred,
2. The city or town in which the individual resided at the time of the event,
3. The Office of Vital Statistics, #11 SHS, 244 Water Street, Augusta, ME 04333-0011. Phone 207 287 1919; www.maine.gov/dhhs/bohodr/recorder.htm
Request maybe made by phone or mail, payment must be received at the time of request along with the name at the time of the event, date of event and relationship to the person named if other than oneself. Checks are payable to the Town of Bar Harbor.
The fee for a certificate obtained from a municipality is $10.00 for the first copy and $5.00 for any additional copies.
The fee from the Office of Vital Statistics is $15.00 for the first copy and $6.00 for any additional copies. The State does accept credit cards.
