Summer hours begin mid-May and winter hours begin mid-October.
The Bar Harbor Transfer Station is limited in what it can
accept. Currently white goods, metals and recyclables are accepted at the
Transfer Station. Large items, including brush, carpets, furniture, and
mattresses are not accepted in
Corrugated cardboard
Newspaper, catalogues, and magazines
Office paper
Mixed paper 13 cereal boxes and similar types of cardboard, egg cartons, junk
mail, envelopes, any other types of paper you are unsure of
HDP type 2 plastic with a seam
Styrofoam packing peanuts (please keep them separate from plastic)
Plastic Sleds
Glass 13 all types with the exception of fluorescent bulbs
