Special Olympics

The Torch Run for the Special Olympics

The torch is carried from the Bar Harbor town pier
to Key Bank in Ellsworth.  From
there it is carried all the way to Orono where the
Special Olympics are held every year.  The Mount Desert Island Police Departments (Bar Harbor PD, Mount Desert PD, and Southwest Harbor PD) join together and carry the torch each year.  If you are interested and want to join the run contact us and we'll let you know when the next run is.
